Pixel-Ponies is a service provided by JL Studio LLC d/b/a Pixel-Ponies, a North Carolina limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
Pixel-Ponies respects your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Account information: Email address, display name, and date of birth (for age verification). If you sign in via Discord or Google, we receive your basic profile information from those services.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the platform, including activity logs and feature interactions, to improve the service.
Payment data: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID for account linking, but we never see, store, or have access to your full card number, bank account details, or billing address. That data lives with Stripe and is subject to their privacy policy and PCI compliance standards.
We use your information to: provide and maintain the service; enforce age restrictions; process subscriptions; send important service notifications; and improve the platform.
Automated content filtering: We automatically scan public horse profiles (names, fields, and public notes) for language that is not appropriate for all ages. Private notes are never scanned. If flagged content is detected, the entry is automatically set to private. You are notified by email when this happens. This is not a manual review. You can edit the flagged content and re-enable public visibility at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. Your display name and collection data are visible to other users based on your privacy settings.
Third-party services: We use the following services to operate the platform, each with their own privacy policies: Stripe (payment processing, handles all billing data), Supabase (database hosting), Cloudflare (security and performance), Discord (authentication and notifications), Resend (transactional emails), and Vercel (website hosting). We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Staff access: Authorized support staff may access your account information (display name, email address, collection data) to assist with customer support requests. Support staff do not have access to your payment details, which are handled entirely by Stripe.
You can control the visibility of your collection (public or private) and your wishlist (private by default) through your account settings. Private notes on collection entries are never visible to other users.
Pixel-Ponies is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a user indicates they are under 13 during account creation, access is denied and no personal data beyond the date of birth is retained (for enforcement purposes only). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.
Users between 13 and 17 are flagged as minors. Certain content may be restricted for minor users. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian should review this privacy policy and our terms of service.
If your subscription lapses, your data is preserved for 30 days at full visibility, then hidden for up to 365 days. After 366 days without renewal, your data may be permanently deleted. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time.
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure authentication (OAuth 2.0 with PKCE), server-side session management, and rate-limited API endpoints. Payment data is handled by Stripe, which maintains PCI DSS Level 1 certification.
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable state and federal law. We are committed to transparency and will provide details about what data was affected and what steps we are taking in response.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access and portability: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Contact us at support@pixel-ponies.com and we will provide your data in a commonly used format within 30 days.
Rectification: You can update your display name through the platform (subject to a 30-day cooldown). For other corrections, contact us.
Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through your account settings. This permanently removes all your personal data, collection entries, and associated content. You may also contact us to request deletion.
Objection and restriction: You can object to our processing of your data or request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances. Contact us to make such a request.
We process your personal data on the following bases: your consent (provided when you create an account and agree to our terms); legitimate interest (operating and improving the platform, preventing fraud, ensuring security); contractual necessity (providing the service you signed up for, processing subscriptions); and legal obligation (complying with age verification requirements, responding to lawful requests).
Pixel-Ponies is a service of JL Studio LLC, operated from the United States. Your data is stored and processed in the United States via our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe). If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our service, you consent to this transfer. Our service providers maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the platform or email.
